This Friday will forever be remembered as the night that Ottawa’s Snob Mob celebrated the four year anniversary of their Mindgames monthly at Babylon Nightclub. In honor of this festive occasion I am travelling to our nation’s capital to grace them with some musics. Come one come all! Four more years! Four more years! Four more years! Four more years!
Tomorrow marks the launch of a new weekly Tuesday event at the Terrasses Bonsecours in Montréal’s Old Port. Featuring a 5à7 entitled ‘Eat The Rich’ with a full tapas-style menu as well as ‘Mardis Casual’ for which I am the resident DJ – Tuesdays down by the water just got a bit more exciting for the duration of the summer. Get familiar on the Facebook page and holler with any questions or reservations requests.
I am proud to announce that I will be playing an opening set and judging at the regional finals of the Red Bull Thre3Style taking place this coming Saturday, May 5th at The Corona Theatre in Montréal.
I have just returned from an amazing, inspiring weekend at the 5Point Film Festival in Carbondale, CO. My friends at Sweetgrass Productions brought me down to play a party for the film makers community at the festival and before going I really had no clue what to expect. I had never heard of Carbondale before (as I’m sure most of you haven’t) but it was a wonderful place full of skiiers, alpinists, and spirited individuals with a thirst for adventure.
“The picturesque town of Carbondale is located 170 miles west of Denver, 12 miles from Glenwood Springs, and 30 miles from Aspen in the heart of Colorado’s central Rocky Mountains.” - www.carbondale.com
The festival itself is among the most respected in the world as a hotbed for amazing adventure films and as a homecoming for the tight knit community of film makers who show their work during the four days of programming.
I instantly knew I was in for a pleasant surprise when I was picked up from the airport in a bus covered in astroturf and the party that ensued that night at the studio of Carbondale-based Forge Motion Pictures was for everyone in attendance, surely a night to remember (hazily).
I was lucky enough to meet a number of the film makers whoose work was shown at the festival and I have tracked down a few of the shorter films that are available on-line to share with you here:
